Who will be the 'steal' of the 2026 NFL Draft from Texas A&M?

Texas A&M's 2025 football roster is expected to produce double-digit selections in the upcoming 2026 MLB Draft, led by unanimous All-American edge Cashius Howell and star wide receiver KC Concepcion, who are both heavily considered as first-round picks and two of the best players at their respective positions.

While Howell, Concepcion, and possibly guard Chase Bisontis hear their names called on the first night of the draft, 13 Texas A&M players were invited to the 2026 NFL Scouting Combine, which is the most nationally, and matched head coach Mike Elko's prediction before the 2025 season began. Including three-year starting linebacker Taurean York, nearly every position will be represented, underscoring that Elko's vision for the program is on track.

This week, TexAgs LIVE asked the question: Who will be the "steal" of the 2026 NFL Draft among the 13 combine invites? Personally, I'll have to stick with defense, and agree with many in the Aggie fan base that Iowa State transfer turned one-year rental defensive lineman Tyler Onyedim, who finished the 2025 season with a career high 48 tackles, 18 solo tackles, 2.5 sacks, and a forced fumble.

Extremely versatile at 6'3" and nearly 300 pounds, Onyedim earned impressive Pro Football Focus grades on defense (71.9), run defense (73.2), tackling (66.1), and pass rush (65), and was credited with 17 pressures and 27 stops. NFL teams are looking for defensive linemen with the ability to push the pocket and affect the quarterback early to allow outside pass rushers to close in, and Onyedim showed that ability this past season.

Plenty of other names, including Taurean York, cornerback Will Lee III, and offensive lineman Trey Zuhn III, could easily become instant impact players at the next level, but with five years of college football at Iowa State and Texas A&M under his belt, Tyler Onyedim looks like the next underrated Aggie star to depart for the NFL.
