“We actually just went over an interesting discussion about points,” Berlin Brothersvalley coach Rachel Prosser said. “You don’t have the ball the majority of the game, so the little things matter.

“Our first scoring was because (freshman) Madison Will got an offensive rebound and passed the ball. Points and rebounds are great, but the little things win games.”

The defending Class 2A state champion Mountaineers will face Williamsburg in the girls championship contest at 4:45 p.m. Saturday at Claysburg-Kimmel. The Blue Pirates defeated Southern Huntingdon 67-40 in Friday’s other girls semifinal. Williamsburg beat Berlin Brothersvalley 55-47 Dec. 16. The Mountaineers defeated Williamsburg twice during the 2024-25 season, including in the conference final. In 2023-24, the Blue Pirates topped Berlin Brothersvalley in two of three meetings, including a 54-53 victory during a PIAA Class 1A quarterfinal.

Everett is 19-4.

“We’re looking at it as a great way to get better moving forward,” Rachel Prosser said or the conference title game. “You can’t simulate as good of a game going into playoffs as we’re going to have (Saturday).”

Coral Prosser scored 24 points to go with 16 rebounds and six assists. Bryn Prosser netted 17 points and pulled down 10 boards.

Sophomore Samantha Walker added nine points, and sophomore Penny Stoltzfus and senior Mercy Sechler each netted eight points for the Mountaineers.

Everett freshman Emma Ritchey posted a team-high 20 points, including four 3-pointers.

“I’m just really proud of our girls,” Rachel Prosser said. “We have a small team and they all contribute.”

Berlin Brothersvalley took a 31-14 advantage at halftime.

Coral Prosser hit three 3-pointers and tallied 11 first-quarter points to help the Mountaineers establish the pace. The junior grabbed nine rebounds in the first two quarters.

The Mountaineers outscored the Warriors 16-7 in the second quarter to build a 17-point lead at intermission.

Berlin Brothersvalley put a running clock into motion late in the third quarter and outscored Everett 17-13 in the final frame.

“We have to come ready to play every single game,” Rachel Prosser said. “Everett has a really nice team, with some young players who play really hard.”
