Tennessee (18-7, 8-4 SEC) defeated LSU (14-11, 2-10 SEC), 73-63, Saturday at Food City Center.
The Vols led, 35-29, at halftime.
It was Tennessee's fifth consecutive victory over the Tigers and Rick Barnes' 250th victory as Tennessee's head coach.
Nate Ament sored a game-high 22 points, including 14 points in the second half. He also totaled nine rebounds, two blocks and one assist. Ament converted 6-of-19 field goal attempts and 10-of-11 free throw attempts. He was one of three Tennessee players to score 10-plus points in the contest against the Tigers, who committed three turnovers.
J.P. Estrella recorded 16 points and nine rebounds, while Ja'Kobi Gillespie had 12 points, six assists, two rebounds and one steal for the Vols, who outrebounded LSU, 45-24, in the contest. Estrella has scored 10-plus points in the Vols' last three games
Ethan Burg scored eight points and recorded two rebounds for the Vols, who committed nine turnovers.
Marquel Sutton and Jalen Reece scored 15 points each for the Tigers. Sutton had nine rebounds, while Reece finished with four assists.
