The Michigan State women's basketball team is in line to host the opening rounds of the NCAA tournaments.
In the NCAA selection committee's top 16 reveal on Saturday, Feb. 14, the Spartans checked in as the No. 14 seed. MSU would be a No. 4 seed in the NCAA tournament if the season ended today and would host the opening rounds at Breslin Center.
The Spartans (20-5) are one of five Big Ten teams that are among the top overall 16 seeds in Saturday's reveal. UCLA leads the way at No. 2, while Michigan is No. 6. Ohio State is No. 9, Iowa is No. 11 and Maryland is No. 13.
MSU has two games remaining in the regular season against top 16 overall seeds. The Spartans travel to face rival Michigan at 4 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 15 and close the regular season against Ohio State on Sunday, March 1.
Saturday's reveal was the first of two released by the NCAA selection committee. The next reveal will be unveiled at 11 a.m. Sunday, March 1.
The full NCAA tournament field will be unveiled on Sunday, March 15.
