Florida State Seminoles golf has added a major name to its 2027 recruiting class: Charlie Woods, the son of 15-time major golf champion Tiger Woods.

Woods currently ranks as the No. 21 in the American Junior Golf Association and has competed in one event so far in 2026. The golf legend’s son is a high school junior at The Benjamin School in Palm Beach, Florida, and will be part of FSU’s 2027 recruiting class that includes Miles Russell, the No. 1 player in the AJGA. Russell currently lives in Jacksonville, Florida and attends the Providence School of Jacksonville and is friends with Woods.

Head coach Trey Jones watched Woods compete at the Florida Class 1A State Championship in November, where he shot at 68 in the championship-clinching final round.

The last few years have been impressive for FSU golf, including a 2024 appearance in the National Championship and the professional debut of Luke Clanton at the end of the 2025 season. Part of the reason for the upturn in success is the recent $8 million renovations to Seminole Legacy Golf Course in Tallahassee, Florida.
