Manchester City will look to build on their impressive result on Sunday when they take on Fulham at the Etihad Stadium. The Blues are six points behind Arsenal in the race for the title, with the Gunners still to visit Manchester, and victory for City will keep the pressure on, given that Arsenal don’t play until Thursday.
While the Gunners would still have a game in hand on the Blues, City will have a psychological advantage as they will be seen as breathing down Arsenal necks as the season steams towards its finale.
Fulham arrive in Manchester a little on the erratic side. They have lost three and won two of their last six matches and have not won away from home since a 1-0 victory at West Ham at the end of 2025. That win was only their third on their travels this season, and City, buoyed from their win at Anfield, will be full of confidence going into the match.
Form
Fulham’s recent form has seen them drop disappointingly down the table. They have lost both their fixtures in February, losing at home to Everton last weekend after losing at Old Trafford the week before. Their year began with successive draws and Crystal Palace (1-1) and at home to Liverpool (2-2), before beating Chelsea at home.
Their up and down form saw them have to come back from a goal down to beat Middlesbrough 3-1, then take a 1-0 loss at Leeds before beating Brighton 2-1.
The Cottagers have lost seven matches on the road, winning just three. They have scored 13 goals on their travels, conceding 21 and have kept just one clean sheet on their journeys so far.
Danger Men
Harry Wilson is Fulham’s main danger against the Blues. Wilson has scored eight goals from 24 matches, has made 53 attempts at goal and has a 15% goal conversion rate. Wilson’s last goal came in the 2-1 home victory over Brighton at the end of January, and his last Premier League goal away from Craven Cottage was the winning goal in Fulham’s 3-2 win at Burnley in December.
Raul Jimenez has scored six goals from 24 matches, but, with 54 attempts on target, has a worse goal conversion rate than Wilson, which is just 11%. Jimenez’s last goal was an 85th minute penalty at Old Trafford at the beginning of the month.
Wilson has also taken responsibility for assists as well. He has created 25 chances, four of which have been taken. He has attempted 547 passes, 444 of which have been successful, giving him a pass accuracy rating of 81%.
Samuel Chukwueze also has four assists from 14 chances created from 12 matches. If City want to beat Fulham on Wednesday, they will need to stop Wilson, Jimenez and Chukwueze first.
The Boss
Marco Silva is the man at the helm at Craven Cottage. The former Hull, Watford and Everton manager has been in charge since July 2021, guiding them back to the Premier League in his first season. He has managed 214 matches for Fulham, winning 94 and losing 75, giving him a win ratio of 44%.
Last Time Out
City were cruising at Craven Cottage in December, but Fulham gave them a huge scare. Erling Haaland, Tijjani Reijnders and Phil Foden had given City a 3-0 lead, only for Smith-Rowe to pull a goal back on the stroke of half-time. Within nine minutes of the second half, City were 5-1 up thanks to another Foden goal and an own goal.
However, Alex Iwobi and a brace by Samuel Chukwueze made it 4-5 and the Cottagers almost snatched an unlikely point when Josh King had a shot cleared of the line in the final moments.
