The Carolina Panthers are reportedly set to add quite a big name to their coaching staff.
According to NFL Network insider Tom Pelissero, the Panthers are hiring Darrell Bevell as their associate head coach and offensive specialist. Bevell has amassed 25 seasons of NFL coaching experience, with 15 coming as an offensive coordinator.
His pro journey began with the Green Bay Packers in 2000, when he was hired as their assistant quarterbacks coach. He'd later be promoted to quarterbacks coach in 2003.
Bevell then became the Minnesota Vikings' offensive coordinator in 2006. He lasted five seasons there before taking up the same post with the Seattle Seahawks between 2011 and 2017, where he'd cross paths with current Panthers head coach Dave Canales.
Since then, Bevell has picked up stints as the offensive coordinator and interim head coach for the Detroit Lions (2019 to 2020) as well as the Jacksonville Jaguars (2021), and most recently served as the quarterbacks coach and passing game coordinator for the Miami Dolphins (2022 to 2025).
