For the first time since 2010, Team USA achieves gold in the moguls at the 2026 Winter Olympics thanks to Liz Lemley.
The Winter Olympics are seeing their first awards given–and Team USA has accomplished something not seen in nearly two decades. Elizabeth Lemley, also known as “Liz Lemley,” had an incredible performance during the games and earned her home its first gold in the moguls since 2010.
Lemley, a Colorado native, competed in her first professional Winter Olympics games after multiple Youth Olympic Games and Junior World Championships appearances. Team USA was lucky to have her as she won gold in her first mogul competition.
The mogul has been a competition that has eluded Team USA since 2010. They have been close but not able to capture gold until now.
For Lemley, not only is this a true golden debut, it is one that makes history for her team. She has worked her way to this point as she competed in the 2024 Youth Olympic Games and 2022 Junior World Championships.
Across four games in those competition appearances, she achieved gold three times. Adding a fourth gold medal to her resume in the 2026 Winter Olympics is a sweet, golden debut.
