The Seattle Seahawks won the Super Bowl on Sunday, and if history is any indicator, we will see a lot of teams try to replicate their success in future seasons.
To be clear, we mean emulate how the Seahawks won the Super Bowl. The NFL is a copycat league and so many teams tend to look at what is currently successful in the league in the name of trying to get some of that for themselves. This is obviously much easier said than done as only Seattle has their personnel and coaching staff, but the foundational elements of what make them who they are is what people will look to copy.
From a macro perspective we may see NFL teams prioritize blitzing defensive backs. Seattle played dime over 50% of the Super Bowl itself and while that was only one game across their world championship season, the ability that Mike Macdonald has to blitz in that capacity is unique and was a big reason why they held the New England Patriots scoreless for most of the game.
Is that what you want to see the Dallas Cowboys copy the most from Seattle, or is there another element of their team?
