Are the Arizona Cardinals poised to make a big splash in free agency at the quarterback position?
Tony Pauline is reporting the Arizona Cardinals are the team expected to sign Malik Willis in free agency.
This would be an interesting decision for Monti Ossenfort and company, but would also make sense as Mike LaFleur would likely have some insight into Willis from his brother Matt.
The issue, or question becomes would you pay Malik Willis a contract in the range of two years and $60-70 million?
Willis in his last two years as the backup for the Green Bay Packers is 2-1 and thrown for 972 yards, six touchdowns and no interceptions.
It is an extremely small sample size, so we cannot compare it to the Seahawks signing of Sam Darnold, because Darnold had a full season of proving to be the guy for the Vikings.
I think everyone would agree that getting Willis in a similar situation would make it easy, one-year $10 million, hell even $20 million for a year no one bats an eye.
But if the Cardinals and Dolphins are going to compete for the chance at Willis, how big are you willing to go?
