Runner's knee will keep Stephen Curry sidelined through the NBA's All-Star Break.

Speaking Monday before the Golden State Warriors played the Memphis Grizzlies at Chase Center – without their star guard for the fourth straight game – head coach Steve Kerr confirmed Curry won't play Wednesday against the San Antonio Spurs or Sunday in the All-Star Game in Inglewood.

Right kneecap soreness has bothered Curry since Jan. 24, when he felt some discomfort during a workout in lieu of a matchup with the Minnesota Timberwolves. Curry played through it the ensuing afternoon, sat out the rematch following night and played Jan. 28 against the Utah Jazz and Jan. 30 against the Detroit Pistons. He checked out in the second half against Detroit and hasn't played since.

Kerr said Curry's runner's knee is "kind of a day to day thing" and is hopeful he'll return to play Feb. 19 against the Boston Celtics. "The idea is – if he can get through everything this week, then that puts him on pace to be playing (then)," Kerr said.

One month shy of his 38th birthday and a 12-time All-Star, Curry is averaging 27.2 points (46.8% shooting, 39.1% 3-point shooting), 3.5 rebounds and 4.8 assists through 39 games. Golden State is 5-9 without him in his 17th season, losing three of those last four matchups.

The Warriors entered Monday's matchup positioned eighth in the Western Conference.

Butler undergoes  ACL repair:  Jimmy Butler underwent "successful" surgery to repair his torn ACL, the team announced Monday afternoon. Butler tore the ligament Jan. 19 against the Miami Heat and had it reconstructed in Los Angeles Dr. Bert Mandelbaum. Golden State vice president of health and player performance Rick Celebrini was present for the procedure.

An update on Butler's playing status is expected early next season, per the Warriors.

"Everything went well and now the recovery begins," Kerr said.

Butler in his 15th season was in the midst of a banner year, logging 20 points (51.9% shooting, 37.6% 3-point shooting) 5.6 rebounds and 4.9 assists through 38 games at 36. Golden State is 3-6 since losing Butler for the rest of the season.

"I know he wants to be back with the group," Kerr said. "He talked about that after the injury. Hopefully we'll see him soon. It'll be great to have Jimmy here. He just gives everybody confidence. It's a really hard thing to be out for a year."
