With the college football offseason in full swing, the Texas Longhorns have been busy on the recruiting front. On Wednesday, they got good news regarding the 2027 class. Four-star wide receiver Tre Moore finalized the date for his official visit to the Forty Acres to be June 5-7.
For the Longhorns, getting Moore on campus is a major win. He is currently ranked as the 24th-best wide receiver in his class by 247Sports. They also rank him as the 22nd best player from Texas and the 161st player in the nation. Due to his play, Moore has received offers from Alabama, Baylor, Arkansas, Arizona State, and Duke.

The high praise for Moore comes following a breakout 2024 campaign. As a sophomore, the Longhorns recruiting target hauled in 38 catches for 562 yards. The Pflugerville High product also found the end zone six times while averaging 14 yards per catch. Regardless of the opponent, Moore found a way to make an impact and frustrate defensive coordinators.
If Moore were to join the Longhorns, he would be part of a 2027 class that is already off to a promising start. Head coach Steve Sarkisian and his staff have secured commitments from four-star wide receiver Easton Royal, three-star edge Cameron Hall, three-star tight end JT Geraci, and three-star linebacker Cade Haug. The Longhorns have also made offers to some of the top players still on the board.

Although Texas is engaged in multiple recruiting battles, Moore would be a major upgrade. Pairing him with a wide receiver like Royal would make the Longhorns' offense hard to stop. Their focus when he is on campus will be to show Moore why Austin is the best place for him to start his college career. If Sarkisian and his staff can make Moore an offer he can't refuse, the Longhorns' offense will be in good hands.
As the talented recruit continues to weigh his options, Texas hopes they are at the top of their list. Over the next few months they will be preparing for Moore's visit to make the best impression possible.
