For the third time in two days the Raiders have attempted to set up an interview with a Seahawks assistant. The previous two were offensive assistants for the OC position. One will happen while the other was blocked by Seattle. Today came the first report of a defensive assistant for the open DC job.
The Raiders will interview Seahawks safeties coach Jeff Howard on Saturday for their defensive coordinator job, per sources.

Jeff Howard spent the past two seasons as the safeties coach in Seattle. He has ties to Kubiak as they were both first time NFL assistants with the Minnesota Vikings together back in 2013.
Since then Howard has been a position coach in the NFL over the past six years. He was a DB coach with the Browns from 2020-22, a linebackers coach with the Chargers in 2023 before joining Mike Macdonald's staff in Seattle in 2024.
The list of OC and DC interviews for the Raiders has been getting steadily longer over the past two days as they are up against it. Those two jobs must be filled first and quickly so they can then begin filling out their staffs in time for the start of the scouting combine on February 23.
