Osei-Bonsu: Bears need to close out games

SPRINGFIELD, Mo–The Missouri State Bears are in the middle of a three game home stand.

And Cuonzo Martin’s Bears are also in the middle of a losing skid.

MoState has lost three of its last four games.

And Thursday night’s loss to Louisiana Tech was a heartbreaker.

The Bulldogs A.J. Bates gets this lay up at the end of regulation to tie the game at 68 and send it into overtime.

At the end of the first overtime Antwan Burnett’s shot for the win is no good.

At the end of the second overtime, the Bears were down by one.

Both Keith Palek and Trey Williams had a chance to win the game.

But both missed.

La Tech wins 79-78 in double overtime.

“We thought the whole time we were going to win the game. Obviously they won on second chance points. We just needed to grab boards and buckle in. Like I said we just came up short. We got to take it on the chin and keep pushing. Obviously we know we’re a good team, a great team. We just have to tighten up some screws. And finish out the game basically. We’re doing a great job. And we know we’re one of the best teams in this conference. We have to close out, make free throws and just close it out,” said Bears forward Michael Osei-Bonsu.
