SEC plans immediate appeal of injunction in LSU case
The game of legal ping-pong will continue between LSU and the SEC. mchezo.co.za
Via Dan Murphy of ESPN, lawyers representing the SEC said Thursday night that they plan to file as soon as possible an appeal of the injunction allowing multiple former NFL players to sign with LSU.
Time is of the essence. Friday is the deadline for adding players to the roster, and LSU by all appearances intends to include Dae'Quan Wright and Zxavian Harris on the roster for Saturday night's game against Clemson.
Via Pete Thamel of ESPN, Wright said he expects to be added to the team and to play on Saturday.
Thursday's decision from a Louisiana state-court judge comes on the same day the SEC filed a federal lawsuit in Alabama against LSU and coach Lane Kiffin aimed at preventing them from adding former NFL players.
And so the chaos continues, with two major questions. First, how will it all resolve? Second, what will the long-term fallout between the SEC and LSU be?
