Former F1 driver David Coulthard has endorsed Jonathan Wheatley for the Aston Martin team principal position following the Briton's sudden departure from the Audi F1 project.

Audi confirmed on March 20 that Wheatley had stepped down as team principal for personal reasons, just months after joining the German manufacturer in 2025.

With Wheatley now linked to a potential role at Aston Martin, Coulthard has publicly voiced his confidence in the Briton's leadership capabilities.
