Trae Young Nears Wizards Debut, Anthony Davis Still Recovering

Trae Young is close to making his Washington Wizards debut after recovering from an MCL sprain and thigh bruise, while Anthony Davis remains out as he heals from hand ligament damage.

Trae Young, the 27‑year‑old guard acquired from Atlanta in January, has been ramping up practice after his last game on Dec. 27. The Wizards say he is working in one‑on‑one and two‑on‑two drills as he recovers from an MCL sprain and a thigh bruise, and he will be evaluated next week.

Anthony Davis, 32, who joined Washington from Dallas earlier this month, has not yet returned to the court. After rehabbing ligament damage in his hand, the former All‑Star is still in the recovery process and will be reevaluated in two weeks, coach Brian Keefe said.
