Beverley Cleared in Assault Case

A Texas grand jury has declined to indict former NBA guard Patrick Beverley on assault charges related to an incident with his sister last year.

Fort Bend County grand jury on Monday declined to indict Beverley on one count of assault of a family member. The decision came after his sister had accused him of grabbing her by the neck, slamming her against a wall, and punching her in the face.

Beverley had been free on a $40,000 bond since his arrest in November. His attorneys stated that Beverley 'would never do anything to harm his sister and that he is very grateful that the grand jury has recognized that.' Beverley played 12 seasons in the NBA, most recently with the Milwaukee Bucks in 2023-24.
