Sanders, Watson to Start Preseason Games

Cleveland Browns coach Todd Monken has announced that Shedeur Sanders and Deshaun Watson will each start a preseason game as the quarterback competition continues into training camp. Monken had originally hoped to name a starter by the offseason program but couldn't reach a decision.

The next week will determine who starts Aug. 15 at Chicago and who starts the Aug. 22 home game against the Bills, with the leader likely starting the final preseason game on Aug. 27 against the Patriots. Watson has played only 19 games since arriving in Cleveland in 2022, missing time due to injuries including two Achilles tears since October 2024.
