Tyce Armstrong Hits 3 Grand Slams in Baylor Debut

In his first game for Baylor, Tyce Armstrong hit three grand slams, tying an NCAA record and propelling the Bears to a 15-2 victory over New Mexico State.

Armstrong, a redshirt senior who transferred from UT Arlington, opened the 2026 season with a historic performance against New Mexico State. He hit grand slams in the third, fourth, and seventh innings, all to left field, and finished the game with a .750 average, 3.000 slugging, 12 RBI and a hit‑by‑pitch.

The feat ties Louisville’s Jim LaFountain (1976) as the only player to hit three grand slams in a single NCAA game. Armstrong said he was "speechless" and called it the coolest moment of his career.
