Maryland to hire Clint Trickett as offensive coordinator

Maryland football is reportedly hiring former Jacksonville State offensive coordinator Clint Trickett to replace Pep Hamilton.

Maryland is reportedly set to hire former Jacksonville State offensive coordinator Clint Trickett as the Terps' new offensive coordinator, moving Pep Hamilton to a senior advisor role. Trickett, a 34-year-old former quarterback for Florida State and West Virginia, previously led Jacksonville State to the No. 1 ranking in Conference USA total offense.

This hire marks a significant shift in philosophy, as Trickett's offenses have consistently been run-heavy. He replaces Hamilton, who served as OC in 2025, making Trickett the fifth offensive coordinator in eight years under head coach Michael Locksley.
