Daboll Drawn to Titans for QB Ward Potential

New Tennessee Titans offensive coordinator Brian Daboll cited Cam Ward as a primary reason for accepting the position, praising the young quarterback's athletic ability despite his rookie struggles.

Daboll, formally introduced as OC on Feb. 18, extensively pursued Ward while with the Giants, conducting multiple visits and dinners. While Ward struggled as a rookie with poor passer rating and touchdown rate, Daboll emphasizes the quarterback's out-of-structure plays as his strength. 'He's a young, athletic quarterback who has accuracy. He can make plays on the move,' Daboll said, expressing comfort with Ward's unconventional mechanics. The former Bills coordinator, who helped develop Josh Allen into an MVP, has studied Ward's tape from college to pros and looks forward to installing his system.
