Xabi Alonso Rejects Marseille Job

Xabi Alonso has turned down an offer to become Olympique de Marseille's new manager, citing an unstable environment at the club.

The Spanish manager, who guided Bayer Leverkusen to a strong season, declined Marseille's approach after the club parted ways with Roberto De Zerbi. Despite De Zerbi's successful debut season that ended with a second-place Ligue 1 finish, momentum faded this year.

With sporting director Medhi Benatia also having left, Marseille's search for a new coach continues. Among potential replacements are Habib Beye and Sérgio Conceição, with the managerial situation at the French club remaining wide open.
