Veteran receiver Dominique Rhymes retires after eight CFL campaigns

Dominique Rhymes has officially retired after eight CFL seasons, closing a career highlighted by three 1,000-yard campaigns and a 2022 CFL All-Star nod.

The 32-year-old announced his retirement on Friday, having spent time with the Ottawa Redblacks, B.C. Lions and Calgary Stampeders. Rhymes recorded 372 career catches for 5,822 yards and 32 touchdowns across 110 regular-season games.

His best season came in 2022 with the Lions, where he posted career highs in targets, catches, and touchdowns before finishing last year with the Stampeders. He averaged 17.7 yards per reception in 2024, catching 50 passes for 886 yards and six scores.
