Munie brace leads Earthquakes past Sporting KC 3-0 in MLS opener

Daniel Munie scored two goals to lead the San Jose Earthquakes to a 3-0 victory over Sporting Kansas City in their season-opening MLS match.

Preston Judd and Daniel Munie each scored four minutes apart before halftime, with Munie adding a late strike to secure a 3-0 win. The Earthquakes outshot Sporting Kansas City 18-7 in the dominant performance.

Sporting KC enters the 2026 season following a major overhaul after finishing last in the Western Conference last season with the fewest goals in the league.
