Masters: Augusta National features 350+ plant species

Augusta National is home to over 350 species of flora, far exceeding the typical azaleas and dogwoods associated with the tournament.

The course features approximately 80,000 flowering plants and trees, with each hole named after the specific vegetation found there. From the rare "Golden Bell" on the 12th to the towering "Pampas" on the seventh, the landscape is a botanical wonder.

Found by Bobby Jones in 1931, the property was originally Fruitland Nurseries. While players like Rory McIlroy admit to rarely seeing the winter-blooming Golden Bell, the sheer variety ensures the course remains a unique blend of nature and sport.
