Pantaloni Confirms Lorient Exit

Olivier Pantaloni has confirmed he will not extend his contract with FC Lorient, citing management distrust despite leading the team to Ligue 2 title and strong Ligue 1 form.

FC Lorient head coach Olivier Pantaloni has confirmed he will not extend his stay in Morbihan beyond June, despite his remarkable record at the club. The 59-year-old manager turned down the club's proposition for renewal, citing executives' distrust in his capacities since his appointment in 2024.

'There's a lot of disappointment,' Pantaloni said. 'I had two wonderful years here... But I still feel that distrust, and that's why I refuse to work in those conditions.' Despite Lorient's 12-game unbeaten streak and ninth-place position in Ligue 1, the club offered him a contract with a termination clause, giving him a 24-hour ultimatum which he rejected.
