Alcaraz Surprised by Sinner's Monte Carlo Entry

Carlos Alcaraz admits he was surprised to see Jannik Sinner competing in Monte Carlo after the Italian's quick turnaround from Miami, with Sinner looking to capitalize on minimal clay court points to defend.

World number one Carlos Alcaraz was surprised by Jannik Sinner's participation in the Monte Carlo Masters, noting the quick turnaround from Miami to Monaco presents significant challenges. "You come in from a different time difference, different surface, different everything. It's tricky when you don't have that much time to prepare yourself for another surface," Alcaraz explained.

Sinner's absence from last year's clay swing due to a suspension means he has very few points to defend, positioning him well to potentially reclaim the world number one ranking. If Sinner wins the tournament, he will move back to the top spot regardless of Alcaraz's performance.
