Astros lose Diaz to oblique strain

Houston catcher Yainer Diaz was placed on the 10-day injured list Tuesday with a left oblique strain suffered during batting practice Monday.

Manager Joe Espada didn't provide a specific timeline for Diaz's return, only that he'll be out "for a while." The Astros have recalled César Salazar from Triple-A Sugar Land to serve as backup to Christian Vázquez, who will now be the primary catcher. Diaz, 27, is hitting .248 with two home runs and 14 RBIs in 26 games this season.

The Astros also made several other roster moves Tuesday, recalling right-hander Jason Alexander and outfielder Zach Dezenzo, reinstating infielder Nick Allen from the IL, optioning Ryan Weiss to Sugar Land, and designating outfielder Dustin Harris for assignment. realschule-moosburg.de
