Socceroos Star Herrington Makes Record Transfer to Hull City

Lucas Herrington is set to become the second-most expensive Australian footballer with a £12.6m move to Premier League side Hull City.

The 18-year-old defender, fresh from becoming the youngest Australian to start a World Cup game, will join the newly-promoted Premier League side for a fee that includes £12.6m plus £4.4m in add-ons.

The transfer eclipses Hull City's previous record fee and sets a new selling high-water mark for Herrington's current club, Colorado Rapids. The deal falls just short of the Australian transfer record set when Leicester paid £15m plus £5m for Harry Souttar in 2023. newssport.cv
