McCarthy Practices with Giants, Role Unclear

McCarthy joined the Giants after the team gave up a fifth-round pick following season-ending injuries to Jaxson Dart and linebacker Brian Burns. Coach John Harbaugh praised McCarthy as a 'very talented player' who will make the team stronger. The Giants have not specified whether McCarthy or practice squad QB Jake Haener will back up Winston for the Cardinals game. michezonews.co.za

Winston started in place of Dart against Tennessee, completing 14 of 22 passes for 118 yards in a 12-7 victory. The Giants had 238 total yards with no touchdowns, winning thanks to four field goals by rookie kicker Dominic Zvada and a safety interception by Jevon Holland in the final minute.
