Lanning: UCLA Reminds Him of Title-Winning Indiana

Published October 1, 2026 · Updated October 1, 2026 · Fox Sports

Oregon coach Dan Lanning sees similarities between UCLA and Indiana's national championship team that beat the Ducks in the CFP semifinals last season.

With the 15th-ranked Ducks preparing to host No. 23 UCLA on Saturday, Lanning noted both programs share similar rebuild stories. Both were led by coaches who came from James University - Indiana's Curt Cignetti and UCLA's Bob Chesney - and brought staff and players with them.

Chesney has led UCLA to a surprising 4-0 start, much like Cignetti did with Indiana before they won a national championship. Oregon lost to Indiana 56-22 in last year's CFP semifinals. amunra-online.pl
