Eagles set to meet with Georgia TE Oscar Delp at the NFL Combine

The Philadelphia Eagles entered the 2026 NFL Combine with several priorities. They needed to reinforce the secondary. It was necessary to evaluate offensive line depth. At least one or two edge rushers and tight ends are also needed. Positional means continuing to future-proof key positions on both sides of the ball. The tight position is an immediate need. Philadelphia entered the offseason knowing the top three from last year's depth chart are all impending free agents.

Last season, Dallas Goedert emerged in ways that Eagles fans and the Philadelphia media always knew and hoped he would. He became a foundational piece and one of the most consistent elements of last year's offensive attack.

It appears there is interest in keeping him around, but even if that happens, there are still depth questions lingering behind him. No worries. The Eagles are doing homework on this year's tight end class.

Eagles schedule Oscar Delp for an NFL Combine interview.

Thursday arrives, and the first round of on-field workouts is set. The Eagles have done their due diligence in meeting with players since their arrival in Indianapolis. Former Georgia Bulldogs standout shared that he had a formal interview scheduled with Philadelphia at the Combine.

Delp brings intriguing tools to the table. He has a good size (he's 6-foot-5 and 245 pounds). He has reliable hands and experience in a pro-style system that consistently produces NFL-ready talent. While he wasn't always the focal point of Georgia's offense, he flashed as a capable in-line blocker with enough athleticism to threaten seams and contribute after the catch.

It's far too early to draw firm conclusions from a single Combine meeting. Still, formal interviews matter. They indicate real intrigue, not just surface-level scouting. If nothing else, the Eagles are signaling that they're thinking ahead.
