The Great Canadian Jersey is coming to Toronto.
As part of its This is Our Game campaign, Rogers unveiled The Great Canadian Jersey in January as a symbol of national pride in the game of hockey.
Rogers announced on Thursday that the jersey will be featured in an exhibit at the Hockey Hall of Fame in Toronto from March 2-23. Visitors will be able to learn more about the jersey, its contributors and the stories behind its creation.
“The response to The Great Canadian Jersey has been phenomenal,” said Terrie Tweddle, Rogers’ chief brand and communications officer, in a statement. “Canadians from coast to coast to coast saw themselves in this project, and we’re thrilled to have it displayed at the Hockey Hall of Fame, local museums and hockey associations to give fans the chance to experience it up close.”
The jersey, which includes patches of jerseys from each province and territory of Canada, was designed by former OHL player Cameron Lizotte.
Included are patches from each province and territory of Canada, each of the seven Canadian NHL jerseys, Connor McDavid’s minor-league sweater, Marie-Philip Poulin’s inaugural PWHL Montreal jersey, Sarah Nurse’s Ancaster Avalanche jersey, as well as patches from minor- and beer-league teams across the country.
Later in the year, The Great Canadian Jersey will also be displayed at the Aga Khan Museum in Toronto before heading to the Royal Alberta Museum. Rogers will also send The Great Canadian Jersey on the road for a series of local community visits, sharing the artwork with teams whose donated patches are featured in the design.
