Steve Smith blasts Dave Gettleman, Ron Rivera when recalling his messy exit from Panthers

Steve Smith Sr. just put all the blood and guts out on the table.

On the latest episode of his YouTube Show, 89, Smith looked back the events that led up to his ugly divorce from the Carolina Panthers. The messy breakup went down following the 2013 campaign, with then-general manager Dave Gettleman entering his second year with the organization and then-head coach Ron Rivera entering his fourth.

And as Smith recalls, he wasn't a very big fan of either . . .

After playing 13 years in Carolina, Smith would sign with the Baltimore Ravens in 2014. He’d proceed to taste some sweet revenge in Week 4 of that campaign, bruising up Rivera's Panthers for a season-high 139 receiving yards and two touchdowns en route to a 38-10 win.

Smith finished out his NFL career as a Raven in 2016 and still stands as the Panthers’ all-time leading pass catcher.
