Notre Dame now projected to have three first-round NFL draft picks

With the NFL combine completing this weekend, many are wondering which Notre Dame players helped themselves in front of every team.

According to USA TODAY’s Nate Davis, he is now projecting three Irish players getting taken during the first-round of the NFL draft. The obvious first choice is running back Jeremiyah Love, who is now projected to the Tennessee Titans as No. 4. This is a rise in where he previously was mocked, as many believed that he would go at No. 8 to the Kansas City Chiefs.

Wide receiver Malachi Fields entered with considerable hype, and did nothing to discount that. Davis has the transfer going to the Buffalo Bills at No. 26, with a caveat that they could trade up to fill one of their needs. If they stay put, it looks like Fields will enter a great situation with quarterback Josh Allen.

The final player Davis has in the first-round is running back Jadarian Price, who like Love, put on quite the show at the combine. Davis has him going to the Seattle Seahawks as the final pick of the round. He cites the fact that the Super Bowl champions might not be able to resign Kenneth Walker, and would then turn to Price to handle the load.

This is a start contrast from the end of the season, when it looked like only Love would get selected during the first day of the draft. The most likely scenario is that at least two former Notre Dame stars get picked, with lots of potential for a third.
