Jude Hill of Nicolet boys swimming and diving was the winner of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel Piggly Wiggly high school athlete of the week poll from Feb. 23 to Feb. 28.
The junior medaled twice at WIAA Division 2 state boys swimming and diving Feb. 20, winning gold in the 100-yard backstroke (:50.23) and silver in the 200 freestyle (1:40.69) in performances he dedicated to late teammate Grant Freeze.
Hill received 3,829 of 5,479 total votes cast.
Tyler Emory of Whitefish Bay boys swimming and diving was the runner-up of last week's poll. The senior finished second in the 1-meter dive (383.45) at the Division 2 boys state swimming and diving championships Feb. 20 after returning from a fractured neck that cost him his junior season. His efforts helped lead Whitefish Bay's first boys team state title since 1998.
Other nominees included Grayson Rudich of Cedarburg boys swimming and diving, Brooklyn Love of Dominican girls basketball and Logan Loppnow of Brookfield Central/East boys swimming and diving.
