Trent savaged after Getafe defeat
The England international is finally winning significant minutes under Alvaro Arbeloa - the former Liverpool right-back who replaced Xabi Alonso in January.
But Trent’s time in the Spanish capital isn’t getting any easier - and the knives were out again on Monday night following their awful defeat in La Liga at home against Getafe.
Trent was singled out in the Diario AS player ratings article for his poor performance - with the Spanish outlet offering him 3/10.
'Invisible' Trent offered very little
“Worse than in recent matches. He offered very little in attack and looked hesitant in defence,” it reads.
“His main quality, however, remains clear: a touch worthy of a world-class midfielder, one that greatly facilitates the build-up. That is immediately noticeable.
“In almost every other aspect, he was invisible. Most disappointing was his lack of runs to the byline, finishing with 28 per cent crossing accuracy, two out of seven. Arbeloa replaced him before the hour mark with Carvajal.”
