The Boston Bruins are reportedly showing interest in two star forwards from the Vancouver Canucks ahead of Friday’s trade deadline.

Boston is holding onto a playoff spot and the Bruins are looking to add some more talent to their roster. NHL insider James Murphy of RG.org had multiple sources inform him that the Bruins are showing interest in Canucks forwards Brock Boeser and Conor Garland.

“They’ve continued to track both players again lately,” a Western Conference NHL pro scout told RG in an article published on Monday.

“It’s no secret that (Don) Sweeney has been interested in Garland for a while, and he’s still trying to see if something works there. Then, as you reported before the Draft, they were going to go after Boeser if he hit free agency.”

Boeser is in the first year of his seven-year, $50.75 million deal and is a legit top-six winger. He’s recorded 12 goals and 14 assists for 26 points in 53 games.

Garland, meanwhile, has recorded seven goals and 19 assists for 26 points in 49 games and is a middle-six forward. His six-year, $36 million deal is set to kick in next season, so both players would be long-term players for Boston.

However, a source told Murphy that the Bruins are more likely to acquire Garland than Boeser if they do acquire one of the Canucks forwards.

“I’m told it’s much more likely Garland gets dealt rather than Boeser, and the Bruins are right there,” another NHL source told RG.

The NHL trade deadline ends at 3 p.m. ET on Friday.
