The Buffaloes have now lost 77 years of NFL experience since March 19, 2025, with new offensive and defensive coordinators, plus new position coaches for QB, TE, DL, and cornerbacks in 2026. While the departure of coordinator Pat Shurmur is understandable given his struggles adapting to college football, Robert Livingston's exit comes after he significantly improved Colorado's defense from 121st in scoring defense to 43rd in 2024.
Colorado has promoted linebackers coach Chris Marve to defensive coordinator to replace Livingston. With two new coordinators preparing for an almost entirely new team, the Buffaloes face considerable challenges heading into what promises to be a challenging season.
