Cardiff Edge Leinster to Boost Play-Off Hopes

Cardiff secured a crucial 8-7 victory over Leinster, ending the champions' 11-game winning streak and boosting their own play-off prospects in the United Rugby Championship.

Cardiff climbed to third in the URC table with a hard-fought 8-7 win over Leinster at the rain-lashed Arms Park. The hosts took the lead through Callum Sheedy's 19th-minute penalty and extended it when scrum-half Aled Davies scored a counter-attack try in the 54th minute.

Leinster responded with a converted try by Luke McGrath in the 68th minute, but Cardiff held on despite being reduced to 14 men following Jacob Beetham's yellow card. The victory gives Cardiff a significant boost in their play-off race, putting them level on points with second-placed Leinster while maintaining a 15-point buffer over other contenders.
