Local Girls' Basketball Teams Chase District 11 Titles

Three local high school girls' basketball teams will compete for District 11 championships this weekend, while two others seek to clinch spots in the PIAA State Playoffs.

Weatherly Wreckers face Bethlehem Christian in the Class A Championship game Saturday at Easton High School after defeating Notre Dame 32-19 in the semifinals. Despite a 7-15 regular season record, Weatherly has won three of their last four games. Bethlehem Christian enters at 16-3 with a 12-game winning streak.

In Class 2A, Williams Valley and Marian Catholic will meet Friday at Martz Hall after splitting regular-season matchups. Marian won the most recent meeting 39-31 on January 29, while Williams Valley has won four straight after losing four in late January. For the Class 3A consolation spot, Pine Grove takes on Notre Dame Green Pond Friday night in Catasauqua.
