Football's lawmaking authority, the Ifab, announced a two-year review of the video assistant referee (VAR) to ensure the technology is being used "to its best." Another significant proposal aims to fast-track punishments for players obscuring their mouths, following the alleged racist abuse of Vinícius Júnior by Benfica's Gianluca Prestianni. The "Vinicius Law" could be implemented for this summer's tournament if approved.
