Sulakshan Kulkarni, former Mumbai wicketkeeper and 2024‑25 Maharashtra Ranji coach, has been appointed head coach of Oman’s men’s national cricket team. He replaces Sri Lankan Duleep Mendis, who will serve as Chief Development Officer.
Kulkarni’s task is to guide Oman toward qualification for the 2027 50‑over World Cup in South Africa, with upcoming ICC CWC League 2 tri‑nation series in Nepal and Namibia. He brings experience from coaching Mumbai, Tamil Nadu, Vidarbha and Chhattisgarh.
