Evansville Athletes Shine at Swimming State Finals

The state tournament concluded on Saturday, Feb. 28 with Carmel High School extending its title streak to 12 years after totaling 408 team points. Locally, Mount Vernon's Ozzy Jankowski had the best performance, finishing third in the 100 butterfly (48.69 seconds) and fourth in the 100 backstroke (49.74).

Memorial senior Caden Zeidler also reached the podium, taking fifth in the 100 freestyle (45.59) and seventh in the 50 freestyle (20.84). Other notable finishes included Castle's Nathaniel Seibert in the 200 freestyle, Jasper's Grant Wehr in the 100 butterfly, and North's Jack Jones in the 500 freestyle.
