Pickens Pitches 15 Strikeouts as Tennessee Wins Invitational Finale

Karlyn Pickens delivered a complete game, striking out 15 as Tennessee beat Appalachian State 6‑2 in the Tennessee Invitational finale.

Pickens started for the Lady Vols and pitched a complete game, striking out 15 batters, tying a career high, while allowing only two hits and two earned runs in 124 pitches. Tennessee won 6‑2 over Appalachian State, with Ella Dodge hitting a three‑run homer and the team racking up nine hits, including a double, a triple and a home run. The Lady Vols were 4‑for‑11 with two outs and 4‑for‑12 with runners on base, leaving seven runners stranded.

Top‑ranked Tennessee will return to Sherri Parker Lee Stadium on Tuesday for a 5 p.m. game against Belmont, available on SEC Network+.
