Wales fly-half Sam Costelow will miss the Six Nations trip to Ireland on Friday night after failing to recover from an ankle injury suffered against Scotland nine days ago. The 25-year-old Scarlets player was retained in the Wales squad last week but is not fit to travel to Dublin, though he could still feature against Italy on March 14th.
Head coach Steve Tandy must replace both Costelow and injured flanker Taine Plumtree for the Dublin clash. Tandy has added Cardiff prop Keiron Assiratti and Dragons flanker Ryan Woodman to the squad and will announce his team on Wednesday, with Jarrod Evans or Dan Edwards likely to start at fly-half.
