Cooper Witten commits to Oklahoma

Oklahoma secured a major recruiting victory Tuesday, landing four-star linebacker Cooper Witten. The 2027 prospect chose the Sooners over SEC rivals Georgia, Texas A&M, and Tennessee.

Cooper Witten, ranked the 31st-best recruit nationally, follows his father, Jason Witten, to Norman. Jason joined Oklahoma's staff as tight ends coach two months prior. While Cooper acknowledged the appeal of being coached by his dad, he emphasized finding the best fit for his game.

Witten joins an Oklahoma class currently ranked second nationally by On3. The Sooners are looking to bolster their defense with the No. 2 linebacker in the Class of 2027.
