Rutgers Hires Joe Evans as Assistant Defensive Line Coach

Rutgers has hired former Drake defensive line coach Joe Evans as its new assistant defensive line coach, joining the staff after a single season at Drake.

Rutgers announced the addition of Joe Evans to its defensive line coaching staff. Evans will work under new defensive line coach Dennis Dottin‑Carter, joining fellow former Drake coaches Joe Woodley and Adam Cox.

Evans spent one season at Drake, developing linemen who posted double‑digit sack totals, and previously played at Iowa where he recorded 28 sacks. He briefly joined the Baltimore Ravens practice squad in 2024 before being released.
