Vanderbilt Sweeps SEC Women's Basketball Awards

Commodores star Mikayla Blakes earned Player of the Year after leading the nation with 27.1 points per game, while Aubrey Galvan was named Freshman of the Year and Shea Ralph took Coach of the Year honors. The 27-3 Vanderbilt squad set school records for regular-season and conference wins, finishing tied for second in the SEC and earning the No. 2 seed in the upcoming conference tournament.

Blakes became the first player since 2000 to average more than 30 points in SEC games. Both she and Galvan credited their teammates for their achievements, with Ralph emphasizing that the awards were a 'team effort.' Despite returning only one starter, Vanderbilt is projected as a No. 2 seed in the NCAA Tournament.
